Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP) – ‘For over 25 years, we have been helping to make women and children safer. With services across London, we work to stop domestic violence and to reduce the harm it causes to women, children and families.
BAMBU – ‘Bambu is a service that aims to provide tailored, specialist support to meet the holistic needs of children and young people impacted by domestic abuse in the home, while working in a multi-agency approach’.
1:1 support sessions for children and young people who have experienced domestic violence and require resilience support, or 1:1 support sessions for children and young people who are using violent and/or abusive behaviours are require behavioural change support. To provide a confidential space for young people to explore their feelings, experiences and coping tools and work towards positive relationships, development and engagement for each young person
Services offered:
A resilience programme for children who have experienced or witnessed domestic violence (up to 20 sessions), a violence & abuse behavioural change programme for children using violent or abusive behaviours against a parent/carer (CPVA) (10 sessions) & art/play therapy programme (up to 20 sessions).
Referral process:
Referrals must meet the age criteria (11-14), be in one of the 8 London boroughs covered by the service (Croydon, Lambeth, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, Tower Hamlets, Islington, Haringey & Enfield) and have experienced current or historic domestic violence.
Referral forms are completed and sent to a mutual inbox and will then be assigned to the relevant team. Referrers are contacted for an initial consultation of the referral and then contact will start with safe parent and young person.
