SENDIASS provide a service for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or a disability between the ages of 0-25:
- Confidential helpline information and advice
- One-to-one work by caseworkers with parents and/or young person
- Signposting to relevant services locally and in nearby boroughs
- Support in meetings at schools or colleges, Team Around the Family meetings, and multi-agency meetings (this would depend on advance notification and capacity)
- Support on the Education, Health and Care Process including requesting statutory assessment, help with Section A, and reviewing the draft Plan
- Help with the child/young person’s school placement
- Advice and support on school exclusions
- Training and workshops with linked organisations on differing topics
- Liaising with educational settings such as early years’ settings, schools, colleges, etc.
