The Children’s Society (To support parents whose children are at risk of exploitation)

The Parent and Carer Champion Network is a new programme that allows parents and carers living in Enfield to receive support and care from other parents or carers in the area.

The programme focuses on parents and carers whose children are at risk of or are experiencing:

  •  serious youth violence
  •  exploitation or grooming
  •  difficulties navigating the criminal justice or social care systems
  •  special educational needs or disabilities
  •  challenges at school, including the risk of exclusion.

As a parent and carer champion, you’ll be a vital part of the network. You’ll receive training so that you can support other parents and carers in your community, providing a safe space for them to share their experiences.

Together, you’ll identify areas where they might benefit from information or training, signposting them to further resources and empowering them to connect with other support services.

If you have lived experience of any of the challenges listed or want to build your skills and knowledge while helping other parents and carers, this could be the opportunity for you! Mums, dads, grandparents, and other carers are all welcome to join.
