Enfield YDS works with young people aged between 11 and 19 years (and up to 25 with SEND), we promote young people’s personal and social development and enable them to have a voice, influence change and place in their communities and society as a whole.
Working in partnership with community and voluntary organisations to provide a range of positive activities, informal/accredited learning opportunities, information and guidance and mentoring support via our five open access Youth Centres.
The YDS also offers
Mentoring – Mentors provide support to young people by working on issues that are important to them. They support young people to make informed choices in their lives and enable them to meet their potential.
Outreach and Detached – The YDS outreach team deliver outreach sessions in areas of the borough where youth violence and anti-social behaviour is causing a concern. The aims of the programme is to reduce antisocial behaviour, to build positive relationships with young people associating in the area and engage young people to attend their local youth clubs or other positive activities
Early Intervention Positive Activities – The YDS play a key role in coordinating and providing diversional activities for young people known to YOS, or at risk of offending, low confidence or part of a holistic intervention.
Youth Leadership – The YDS coordinates and implements the Youth Leadership Academy (YLA). YLA is a programme which enables young people aged 13-19 who attend youth clubs and projects to gain formal recognition for their involvement as leaders in the design, delivery, evaluation and management of their Youth Centre and Projects.
Summer Uni – This programme provides young people with high quality personal and social development opportunities during the Summer
